“We need to help students and parents care for and preserve the ethnic and cultural diversity that nurtures and strengthens this community and this nation.”

These were the words of Chávez, a person who came from a humble family and grew up exposed to dangerous work conditions. These poor families did not have access to water, bathrooms and other basic needs.

This type of life is what led Chávez to become a community leader and a person dedicated to the rights of farmers and workers. He motivated the people to identify their problems and to find ways to solve them. His biggest wish was that these workers would gain the rights and respect they deserved. California was the first state to recognize Cesar Chávez with Cesar Chávez Day on March 31st.

At Pangea, we want to make sure that his achievements for our community do not go unnoticed. He was an inspirational leader for the civil rights movement, and Latinos within the United States.
