5 Ways to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in Chicago:

1. Sunday, September 13th: LV Chamber of Commerce’s 46th Annual Mexican Independence Day Parade

Head to Little Village to kick off Mexican Independence Day. The parade starts at the Little Village Arch at 12 pm. Join 30,000 other Mexicans to walk along 26th St. Enjoy food, shopping and partake in one of the largest cultural events in Chicago.

2. Sunday, September 13th: Sociedad Civico Cultural Guatemala’s Independence Day Parade & Picnic Chapín

Join fellow Guatemaltecos starting at 12 pm at California St. and Montrose Ave. Head to the Grand Picnic Chapín directly afterwards in St. Paul Woods Park!

3. Tuesday, September 15th: Consulate General of Mexico’s El Grito Fiestas Patrias 2015

Visit Pilsen’s Harrison Park at 4 pm to participate in “El Grito,” Mexico’s cry for independence. Enjoy performances from local artists and dance groups. Then fill your stomach with traditional food from local vendors!

4. Sunday, September 20th: Cicero Mexican Cultural Committee’s Mexican Independence Day Parade

Head to Cermak Road in Cicero at 12 pm and join over 25,000 residents to celebrate Mexico’s independence from Spain. Catch the parade with jam-packed entertainment, food and family events. It’s a can’t-miss celebration!

5. Tuesday, September 22nd: 18th Street Development Corporation’s Buen Provecho Taste of Pilsen

Come to 18th St. in Pilsen at 4 pm for a FREE tasting from 25+ restaurants. Wonder the business corridor to learn who has the best taco, mole and much more.
